DJ Enimoney says he does not need the support of his brother, indigenous rapper Olamide Adedeji, to succeed in the music industry.

Since his emergence, the YBNL disc jockey has had to deal with critics attributing his swift rise to his brother’s success.

Reacting in an interview with HIP TV, DJ Enimoney asked: “What if Olamide is not my brother and I need to do my thing?

Insisting on his own abilities, DJ Enimoney said: “So many things just happened through Olamide. I thank God for that. But I can stand on my own.

“I can do my thing by myself the way I wanted. So you people should not get it wrong.

“I am DJ Enimoney, I can do what I want to do by myself.

“If it wasn’t Olamide, it could be somebody else. You know that? God sends anybody to help anybody.”

Harping about ‘Diet’, his new single featuring Tiwa Savage, Reminisce, and Slimcase, DJ Enimoney said, “we never even planned it”.

He explained that the song was conceived accidentally.

“That night I was at EKO Hotel. Someone told me Reminisce was in his room,” he said.

“I got to his room, I met Sarz. From there, I told Reminisce, ‘baba, how far? make we do one jam together with Slimcase’ and he said okay let’s do it.

“I saw Sarz. I said Sarz ‘cook something’… My brother just made one mad beat.

“Tiwa Savage just came in and was like, ‘yo! I have to jump on this song’.”

‘Diet’ is one of the most-played songs in nightclubs and parties.
