DJ Benny has put himself in the spotlight at the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on account of his tracklist for the convention.
The APC had its primaries on June 7 to choose a candidate to represent the party in the 2023 presidential elections.
The DJ’s choice of songs for the convention received admiration from viewers online.
The song ‘Buga’ by Kizz Daniel was a top choice for the DJ as the likes of Tinubu and Yahala Bello took to the stage to present their speeches.
An interesting line in the song was where listeners are called to “wake up”, “don’t sleep”, and “collect your money”.
For many persons at the scene, including party delegates, the song served as a reminder to not just milk the contestants but to do what has to be done in the face of persisting allegations of financial inducement.
Another top choice was ‘Ameno Amapiano’ which the DJ played as an entry song for Tunde Bakare.
‘Ameno’ is often played to portray a personality of extravagance and financial influence.
