According to Punch, Odunare, who jumped into the lagoon at Epe LGA of the state on Tuesday, was found dead on Thursday.

The newspaper quoted a family source, who pleaded anonymity, as confirming his demise.

A video of Odunare sitting on the rails of a bridge and wearing a sober look had earlier surfaced on the internet.

In the video clip, a man who was filming him could be heard asking him questions but Odunare did not respond and thereafter plunged himself into the lagoon.

Usman, a brother to Odunare, earlier said the deceased did not open up to anyone about facing a challenge.

“I don’t even understand the situation. He just wished to do that to himself. He used to be depressed once in a while, but at least he should have come out and spoken to someone,” he had said.

“If there was anything bothering him, he should have talked but that was how he chose to live his life. It has not been easy for our mother, but she will get over it as time goes on.

“We have not seen his body; we are searching for his body and hoping he will float to the shore because the lagoon is deep and nobody can enter into it.”

The Lagos state police command is yet to react to the incident as of the time of this report.
