Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, an American hip-hop mogul, has said the referee should have allowed Floyd Mayweather knock out Conor McGregor.

He claims that the referee racially profiled Mayweather, hence his intervention before McGregor could hit the canvas.

The fight was stopped in the 10th round after Mayweather threw successive punches at McGregor who appeared to be heading for a fall.

By virtue of the referee’s stoppage, the fight was adjudged a technical knock out.

Afterwards, Diddy took to Twitter to voice his displeasure at the manner in which it ended.

“I just feel like the ref was racially profiling, he should have let him knock out the man mehn… champ, knock him out the box,” he said.

McGregor had also complained about the referee stopping the match in the tenth round, saying he was only “fatigued”.

“I was just a little fatigued. He was just a lot more composed with his shots. I thought it was close though and I thought it was a bit of an early stoppage,” he said after his defeat.

Mayweather, who now retires with a perfect 50-0 record, said it was his game plan to let the Irishman get worn out.

“Our game plan was to take our time, go to him, let him shoot his shots early and then take him out down the stretch,” he said.

“We know in MMA he fights for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, he started to slow down. I guaranteed to everybody that this wouldn’t go the distance.”
