Dele Momodu, Ovation Magazine publisher, has put up an Instagram post suggesting that there’s indeed a turmoil in the marriage of Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, and wife Wuraola Ogunwusi.
In the past few weeks, social media has been abuzz with reports of a marital crisis in the royal household but the couple, through their publicists, had denied the “rumour”.
But Momodu, on Wednesday, shared a picture of himself and the queen, with a caption that read: “Your Majesty. Thanks for the honour of pouring out your immediate and future plans to me.
“Thanks for vowing not to direspect the revered throne of Oduduwa, the progenitor of the Yoruba race. When marriages break up, it comes with painful stress and traumatic strain.
“The pressure can be lessened by staying positive. It shall be well with you.”
In a move that appeared to suggest that she was distancing herself from the ooni of Ife, the queen had on Tuesday urged beneficiaries of the #GiveBackConcert, which she organised, to approach the House of Oduduwa Foundation for the “disbursement of funds”.
Oba Ogunwusi is the patron of the House of Oduduwa Foundation.
She wrote, also in an Instagram post, that, “Proceeds realised from the concert was used administratively to organise the event in February through House of Oduduwa. It has come to our recent attention that a few beneficiaries have yet to receive their funds for their organizations.
“To be clear, all remaining funds are in the custody of the patron of The House of Oduduwa foundation, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. The House of Oduduwa is SOLELY responsible for the disbursement of the funds yet to be disbursed. Beneficiaries should please contact the office of the palace.”
Oba Ogunwusi married Wuraola less than two years ago upon his ascension to the throne.
