The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed charges against De General, the embattled skit maker, ahead of his arraignment in court.
On January 12, the agency had raided the skit maker’s Lagos home in a drug bust.
After the raid, the NDLEA had said it recovered some cannabis Sativa, 225mg worth of tramadol, and some paraphernalia for drug use.
The agency said De General admitted ownership of the drugs after which he was arrested alongside three other persons.
Speaking to TheCable Lifestyle on Wednesday, Femi Babafemi, spokesperson of the NDLEA, said charges have been filed against the suspect accordingly.
He also said the agency is awaiting a court date for his arraignment.
“Charges have been filed against him in court already. That’s all I can say. He’s due to be arraigned as soon as the court gives a date. The matter is already pending before the court. I can’t be discussing it,” Babafemi said.
De General’s Instagram page has been inactive since after his detention by the NDLEA.
Basketmouth, the popular comedian and actor, had earlier faulted the NDLEA’s arrest of the skit maker.
He argued that arresting De General over “a pinch of weed” was a waste of taxpayer’s money.
