Singer Davido is heartbroken over the death of his uncle, senator Isiaka Adeleke.
Adeleke, senator representing Osun west, died on Sunday morning at Biket Hospital in Osogbo, Osun state, after suffering a heart attack.
The three-term senator was a civilian governor of the state under the short-lived democratic dispensation during the regime of Ibrahim Babangida.
Davido, who has been quiet since news of Adeleke’s death made the rounds, took to Instagram on Monday morning to express sadness over the incident.
“Heartbroken Rest In Peace My dear uncle…. SHERUBAWON,” the singer wrote.
Until his death, Adeleke was planning to run for the governorship election in Osun state in 2018.
The deceased is the brother of Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke.
The late senator was first elected to the national assembly in 2007.
He contested under the auspices of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007 and much recently, under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeleke was popularly known as ‘Sherubawon’, a Yoruba term for one who is feared.
