Nigerian singers, Davido and Flavour, on Saturday, performed in front of 40,000 football fans during the opening ceremony of the African Cup of Nations in Libreville, Gabon.

Akon, American-born Senegalese singer and record producer, Tanzania’s Bongo Flava and Diamond Platnumz also performed at the ceremony.

Other performers include Cameroonian musician Franko and Lumino and Mohombi from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, the first match of the competition between Gabon and Guinea-Bissau ended with a scoreline of 1-1.

The Africa Cup of Nations 2017 will feature sixteen teams clashing in 32 matches to determine the best in the continent.
