Davido, the Afrobeats star, says Aliko Dangote, the African richest man, always advises him to ensure he saves his money.
The music giant spoke at a recent session of the Forbes Under 30 summit in Botswana.
The ‘OBO’ crooner said the Nigerian billionaire has influenced his financial habits.
Davido added that anytime he sees Dangote, the one thing the billionaire tells him is to “save your money”.
He also said Dangote is a “different kind of billionaire”, adding that he “buys two cars every eight years”.
“Uncle Aliko is a very different kind of billionaire. He buys two cars every eight years. He is a very disciplined billionaire,” he said.
“Every time I see him he just says one thing and one thing only, ‘save your money’. There’s nothing more he tells me. But he and my dad have been very close friends since they were young. And he has done well for us back home. He made us a lot of industries. He does it all. He just opened a cement factory.
“You know, that’s providing jobs. Also to us too, what we do, we have an electricity company. I feel like the top men in Nigeria do what they can to provide.”
The singer earlier said he gets into “arguments” with Adedeji Adeleke, his father, over the way he spends money.
