Davido, the Nigerian singer, has congratulated Tems over her wins at the 2022 BET Awards.
Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, recorded a historic feat when she won the ‘Best International Act’ category at the award ceremony on Sunday.
The win makes her the first Nigerian female artiste to clinch the prestigious category.
She also won the ‘Best Collaboration’ category alongside Wizkid and Justin Bieber for their roles in the hit song ‘Essence’.
Davido took to Instagram to share a picture of Tems alongside her award.
The Afrobeats star also captioned the post with, “anybody can inspire you! Congrats girl.”
Davido’s congratulatory post comes at about the same time when Tems expressed gratitude to her fellow female Afrobeats stars who paved the way for her in the music industry.
The multi-talented songstress appreciated the likes of Asa, Omawumi, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Waje, Simi, and Niniola for “inspiring me”.
