Davido, the award-winning Nigerian megastar, has postponed his long-awaited Away Festival following the death of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The highly anticipated maiden festival was slated to take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on November 18, 2022.
The show, which the singer was to headline, was to feature Mayorkun, Stonebwoy, BNXN, Kizz Daniel, Pheelz, and Lojay, among others.
But following the death of Ifeanyi, the singer’s management announced that the music event will now hold on November 18, 2023, in a statement via Instagram.
“We have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone A.W.A.Y Festival until Saturday, November 18, 2023,” the statement reads.
“To all ticket buyers, your tickets will be honored for the 2023 date. We understand that you must be disappointed but we promise to come back with a bigger and better show.
“Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future.”

Ifeanyi, who is Davido’s son with his fiancee Chioma Rowland, drowned in a pool on October 31.
The incident happened within Davido’s residence in the Banana Island highbrow of Lagos.
It was gathered that Davido had left for the United States and Chioma for Ibadan, leaving Ifeanyi with a domestic assistant.
Following Ifeanyi’s death, the police interrogated eight of the singer’s domestic workers, including his nanny.
The nanny and his cook were subsequently detained for a further probe while the others were set free.
