The police in Abuja have released Dammy Krane, the singer, after spending nearly a week in detention at the Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

On August 22, Krane alleged that Davido, his colleague, orchestrated his recent arrest.

He claimed that Davido paid the law enforcement agency to detain him under the pretense of being involved in illegal activities related to Flutterwave and cryptocurrency scams.

He also warned that Davido should be held accountable if anything happens to him.

On Wednesday, Funmilayo Eguaoje, the FCID spokesperson, told TheCable Lifestyle that Krane was interrogated by the cybercrime unit — although she did not state the cause of his detention.

But in a recent video shared by VeryDarkMan, the social media activist, Krane can be seen celebrating his release.

Krane apologised to Davido for the allegations he had made against him. He also appreciated the police commissioner in Abuja and VeryDarkMan for his support.

“I wanna say a big thank you to my brother. I know there are a lot of words that ought not to be said. I know. I want to apologise for this Tagbo death allegation. Make you una still remember David is my brother. And we are going to find a major ground to resolve everything,” he said.

“It is still WorldStar movement. Let us spread more music.”

The singer revealed that he is releasing a new project titled ‘King of Afrobeats’ on September 6.

Krane and Davido have been in a heated dispute since the former claimed the latter owes him for songwriting contributions.

Krane also accused the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker of sabotaging his record deal with Sony Music.

In response to the allegations, Davido labeled Krane “ungrateful” and claimed he received no payment for their collaborations. Davido also mentioned that he provided shelter and support for Krane during a difficult time when he was homeless.

Since then, Krane has continued to attack Davido on social media; even accusing him of being involved in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike, who died from alleged alcohol poisoning in October 2017.

Davido dismissed claims and threatened to sue Krane for “defamation of character and cyberbullying”.
