The show will run for three days, from August 1 to August 3 at the Los Angeles amphitheater.

In a blog post, the organisers disclosed that ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is a timeless and iconic rock opera that retells the final days of Jesus Christ through the perspective of Judas Iscariot, his betrayer.

“Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work that explores the biblical portrayal of the extraordinary events that led to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of his betrayer, Judas Iscariot,” the post reads.

“The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, Jesus’ disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.”

The Colombian-American Sergio Terjuillo is the director and choreographer of the musical while American musician Stephen Oremus serves as musical director and conductor.

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ was initially released as a concept album. However, its success led to the show’s Broadway on-stage debut in 1971.
