A magistrate court sitting at Tinubu area of Lagos Island has struck out the car theft charge pressed against Azeez Fashola, Nigerian street singer better known as Naira Marley, by the police.

The court also dismissed similar allegation against Idris Fashola (18) and Babatunde Fashola (24), the singer’s two brothers, as well as Kunle Obere (22), their cousin.

In his ruling, Tajudeen Elias, the chief magistrate, dismissed the case after he was shown a settlement agreement by Adelekan Ademola, the complainant, and the four defendants.

The singer was absent in court but the other defendants were present.

They were all being tried on alleged crimes bordering on conspiracy, stealing, assault, and obstructing the police from arresting Marley.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported that the ‘Soapy’ crooner begun talks of an out-of-court settlement with the complainant.

Ademola had alleged that Marley stole his Toyota Camry with registration number FEE 120 AA, valued at N1.8 million, and an iPhone X5 worth N330,000.

The singer had dismissed the claims, after which he flaunted a fleet of his luxurious cars to further discredit the accusations.

Meanwhile, Marley has been in a legal battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ever since he was arrested for his controversial 2019 track and social media comments alleged to have supported cybercrime.
