Chizoba Boye, a veteran Nollwyood actress renowned for playing the role ‘Aunty Abike’ in ‘Tinsel’, a Nigerian soap opera, has passed away. She died at 52.

The film producer and presenter, who doubles as the wife of Sam Boye, a Nollywood filmmaker, was said to have breathed her last on Sunday after complaining of ill health — a day before.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source close to the deceased, who broke the sad news to TheCable Lifestyle, said further information would be divulged as regards the circumstances that led to her death.

The talented movie star, who recently celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary with her husband, would also be remembered for the role she played in ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Checkmate,’ ‘Scandals’ among other films.

Her death further stretches the lists of celebrities who have breathed their last since the dawn of this year from several illness including those who contracted COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus.
