Chiwetalu Agu, the ace actor, has lambasted people spreading rumours about the death of his colleague Zack Orji.
Orji slumped on December 29 and was admitted to the intensive care unit of the national hospital in Abuja.
In January, Hannatu Musawa, the culture minister, revealed the actor underwent brain surgery and called for support for him.
Recently, there were rumours on social media that Orji had passed away.
But in a live session on his Facebook page, the actor urged people to disregard the rumours of Orji’s death.
Agu said “God’s wrath will visit” those claiming that the ailing actor is dead.
“Please I urge each and every one of you to disregard or shun any post saying that our own veteran actor Zack Orji is late,” he said.
“It is nothing but a rumour. My prayer is that may anybody who has a hand in spreading such rumours face the wrath and anger of God.”
Orji was a former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
He is renowned for his roles in films like ‘The Bridge’, ‘Glamour Girls’, and ‘Blood Money’.
Beyond acting, Orji is also a film producer, director and politician.
In 2022, he was appointed a director of performing arts for the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) also dismissed rumours of Orji’s demise.
