Recently it was announced that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, award-winning Nigerian author, will be in conversation with Michelle Obama, former US First Lady, at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The event is part of promotional activities for the former First Lady’s new book, ‘Becoming’. Tickets to the event sold out within minutes after it went on sale.
Online position in the queue for the coveted event reached up to 60,000th, as people waited for an opportunity to purchase tickets.

Some fans even turned up at the 2,900-seat capacity event venue as early as 4:30am for the event ticket which went on sale by 10:00am on Thursday.
Fans have called for the event to be moved to a bigger venue so as to accommodate more people interested in attending.
Some fans, lucky enough to snag tickets to the events, are reselling for as high as £70,000, more than 570 times the value of the original tickets.
Both Adichie and Obama are feminist icons, as their journeys, works and writings have inspired millions of people across the world.
It would indeed be a wonderful opportunity to witness a conversation between both women. Perhaps, the scramble can be forgiven.
