Charles Oputa, Nigerian singer and activist better known as Charly Boy, has sustained wounds from a scooter accident.

The ‘Area Fada’, as he is fondly called, took to his social media in the late hours of Tuesday to recount the incident.

The entertainer also shared images of his wounded face.

The singer, who did not reveal the time and location of the incident, appreciated God for quick healing, adding that he is undeterred as he’s set to hit the road again.

“See as I go fall on top my scooter, scatter my face. Thank God am healing, I hit the road today,” he wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin.

The 70-year-old activist also appreciated those who sympathised with him and took a dig at those who had negative comments to make.

“All those wey sorry for me God bless una,” he wrote.

“All those wey yab me, dey call me Agbaya, biko allow me catch my cruise jare!!!”

Last month, the father of nine had announced that he was done riding bikes.

“I am done with Power Bikes. For the past 3yrs now. 50yrs of riding, no scratch, no accident.  Lord I thank you,” he wrote.

“During my biking days, my nickname was “mr go slow”, I was not a speed freak. I never hardly did more than 80mph”

The septuagenarian has been a motorbike enthusiast for several decades. In 2008, he released ‘Ninja Bike’, a homage to his love for bikes.
