Celine Dion, the award-winning Canadian singer, has called out former President Donald Trump for using her song ‘My Heart Will Go On’ without her permission at a rally.

The Oscar-winning song — which was featured in a 1997 film about the doomed ship Titanic — was played to supporters before Trump appeared on stage at a presidential campaign event in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday.

But in a recent statement shared via X, Dion’s management said she did not “endorse” the use of the song.

The statement said the singer and her management team had only recently become aware of its use.

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc, became aware of the unauthorised usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” the statement reads.

“In no way is this use authorised, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use… And really, THAT song?”

Several singers have previously accused Trump of using their songs without permission at campaign rallies. They include Rihanna, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pharrell Williams, Tom Petty, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and Adele.

Dion has been battling stiff person syndrome (SPS). She announced her diagnosis of the rare neurological disorder causing uncontrollable muscle tension in December 2022.
