Several Nigerian celebrities have joined the ‘Stingy Men Association (SMA)’ since it became a sensation on social media platforms.

The movement, initiated by a section of social media users, is aimed at catching fun while also aiming a thinly-veiled dig at some ladies fond of asking men for money.

Contrary to the ‘Sweet Boys Association’ — used to describe men of amazing personality which also gained traction in 2018 — SMA argues that there’s no justification for men spending on ladies who don’t deserve their money.

The group’s motto is “Let me see what I can do” — a term suggesting that men giving money to ladies should be seen as voluntary not an obligation as believed in some quarters.
