‘Celebrate men, don’t be a nuisance’ — Gifty Powers replies Etinosa

Gifty Powers, the ex-BBNaija housemate, has hit back at Etinosa Idemudia, the Nigerian actress, after she called her out for praising Davido.

Gifty had on Sunday described the ‘OBO’ crooner as “world’s best father” after the musician graced the second birthday of Ifeanyi, his child with Chioma Avril Rowland, his estranged fiancée — despite their seeming differences.

But Etinosa had tackled the reality TV star over her comment and accused her of “chasing clout.”

The actress later apologised to Gifty, adding that her outburst was because the reality TV star’s comment could undermine the efforts made by other parents.

But in a lengthy post via her Instagram stories on Tuesday, Gifty wondered why Etinosa should be rankled about her decision to commend Davido.

The reality TV star also advised the actress not to constitute a “nuisance”, adding that she remains unapologetic about her earlier post.

“Etinosa, seriously, if you don’t know what to write, at least shut that big shapeless loose lousy thing you call a mouth,” she wrote.

“I wrote what I wrote and I’m so damn not apologetic about it. In fact, I am too damn proud of what I wrote, to the point that I even popped champagne to it.

“Is your baby daddy not showing you and your daughter love? Wetin dey hold your fingers from not celebrating your own?

“If you are still mourning your daddy, then shut the hell up and mourn in peace and don’t be a nuisance.

“Everything na woman this, woman that, Haba. The fact is, we are nothing without a sperm, meaning, without the release of sperm, ovary no go catch anything. Men should be celebrated also.

“Davido, well done you hear. No papa (except my hubby) beta pass you. FYI, I don’t have baby daddies, my dear. I have a husband. A what? A husband. You get it?

“So next time you wanna address me publicly, put my legal title ordained by God, Mrs Gifty Powers. You get it?

“I’m sorry for the outburst, next time say, ‘Me Etinosa, na only in my family wey my baby daddy dey mental and I dey vex.’

“Grandmama Etinosa, please do not try to be unfortunate/useless again. It’s becoming extremely boring now. Seriously woman, focus on that poor child of yours.”

Gifty also lamented the trend of playing down the significance of men by spotlighting only the heroics of women.

“There are billions of men out there who just have the habit of impregnating women and leaving the hard work of motherhood to the woman alone,” she added.

“I didn’t get the chance to meet my father because he died when I was tender. So when I see men going extra length in taking care of their kids, it brings so much joy and happiness to my heart.

“Celebrating someone is a choice. And I chose to celebrate a man who everyone can testify to, one who isn’t ashamed to put smiles on his children faces. He might have his differences but still, his kids come first.

“Women are always celebrated everywhere, both in and out of social media. So, now the question is, when will men also be celebrated?

“I’ve been the breadwinner of my family until I got married and all of my responsibilities were transferred to my husband, It was then I knew that being a man is never a day’s job. It’s not easy to be a man.”
