Cece Yara Foundation has launched ‘Safe Kids’, the first ever child protection online directory in Nigeria.
‘Safe Kids’ will provide parents, teachers, and guardians with easily accessible information to aid in saving children from abusive situations.
It will also provide information about the necessary law enforcement agencies, information on medical and legal services, shelters, who to meet and the processes involved.
With over 200 listings of child-specific service providers in Lagos state, the directory will also include providers of free medical and legal services.
“We were committed to building the most complete and accurate database of child protection service providers in Nigeria from day one and it has taken a lot of hard work, and research hours to verify all entries,” said Bola Tinubu, founder of the Cece Yara Foundation.
“This directory will go a long way to support speedy reporting and response to child sexual abuse and other cases of abuse.
“This portal will be regularly updated by a team of dedicated data volunteers.”
The non-governmental organisation, which was established in 2016, focuses on protecting children from sexual abuse.
