Diane Kruger was named best actress while Joaquin Phoenix emerged the best actor as the 2017 Cannes Film Festival wound to a close on Sunday.

Sofia Coppola became the second woman to win best director for her effort in ‘The Beguiled’, which starred Nicole Kidman.

Ruben Ostlund won Cannes’ highest honour, the Palme d’Or, for ‘The Square’, an art world satire that stars Claes Bang, Elisabeth Moss and Dominic West.
