Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Afrofusion singer, has revealed the inspiration behind the title of his upcoming eighth studio album ‘No Sign of Weakness’.

In a recent Instagram video, the 33-year-old artiste, born Damini Ogulu, shared that the album’s title reflects his resilience in overcoming life’s toughest challenges.

He revealed that despite facing numerous obstacles that could have ended his life or career, he never showed weakness.  

“I have had the most reasons to not exist but I have shown no sign of weakness. That shows you through everything no sign of weakness,” he wrote.

“That is what I want everyone coming after me to do, showing no sign of weakness.”

The highly anticipated album is set for release on July 11.

Burna Boy gained fame after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).

Since then, he has released seven albums: ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013), ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall‘ (2020), ‘Love, Damini‘ (2022) and ‘I Told Them‘ (2023).

He has also won several awards. In 2021, the Afro-fusion artiste won the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the Grammy Awards for ‘Twice As Tall’.

Last month, the singer released ‘Tatata’, a track from ‘No Sign of Weakness,’ featuring Travis Scott.
