Burna Boy, Afro-fusion singer, and Teniola Apata, Afropop vocalist, have both been unveiled as ambassadors for Pepsi, US carbonated soft drink brand.

The company took to its Nigerian social media accounts to announce the endorsement deal shortly after the duo’s stage performance at the opening ceremony of the Big Brother Naija reality show.

The singer, who was seen dressed in a Pepsi-branded t-shirt alongside Teni during their energetic performances, also confirmed the endorsement deal.

For Burna Boy, the deal comes after his emergence as ‘Best International Artiste’ at the recently held 2019 BET Awards — which honoured renowned figures in categories spanning music, sports and other entertainment spheres.

Other Nigerian artistes who have also been named ambassadors by the US carbonated soft drink brand include Tiwa Savage, DJ Cuppy, Tekno, Davido and Wizkid.

Recently, David Adeleke, Afro-pop singer, signed an endorsement deal with TravelBeta, an online travel and tour agency.

This saw him feature alongside Chioma Avril, his partner, in a newly initiated commercial during BBNaija’s opening.

Similarly, Funke Akindele, actress, also joined the bandwagon of brand ambassadors afyer she signed a deal with Dettol, a Nigerian-owned antiseptic brand.

“Immediately I was contacted to get involved, I jumped on it because of the significance of this. Being part of Clean Naija will also help me reach out to more people and touch their lives in actual ways,” she had said.
