Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s personal assistant on new media, broke the news in a series of tweets on his Twitter page.

On Monday, Ahmad disclosed that Buhari has okayed the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic, Shendam, and also approved the sum of N2 billion from the resources of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for the immediate take-off of the institution.

“President @MBuhari has approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic, Shendam, Plateau State, with an approval of N2 billion from the funding resources of TETFund for the immediate take-off, the Ministry of Education confirmed in a letter to Gov Simon Lalong of Plateau State,” he wrote.

He stated that a take-off grant of N2 billion has been approved for the new institution — to be named the Federal Polytechnic Ayede — from the funding resources of TETFund towards providing facilities for immediate take-off.

“President @MBuhari approves the establishment of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa LGA, Oyo State, with approval of N2billion from the funding resources of TETFund for the immediate take-off,” he wrote.

“The Ministry of Education confirmed in a letter to Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.”
