Angela Nwachukwu, a 72-year-old Briton who is seeking to get a UK visa for her 27-year-old Nigerian husband, CJ, is “gullible” and “being scammed”, says Donald Neate, her ex-husband.

Ever since getting married to CJ in April 2015 in Nigeria, Angela has unsuccessfully made several attempts to get him a visa to join her in the UK.

Although she recently insisted that they belong together and would not give up on trying to get CJ into the UK, her ex-husband has told Daily Mail that “she is quite gullible”.

According to Neate, a former lorry driver from Bristol, Angela’s new husband is only intent on relocating to England.

Neate said he’s not on talking terms with his ex-wife, whose new husband is six years younger than her eldest child.

“We separated 18 years ago and haven’t had any contact since,” he said. “The first time I knew about it was when I read the papers. She has been scammed by a man who just wants to get into the country.”

He said Angela would “have to deal with the consequences of her action at some point”.

Angela and CJ met on Facebook after the Nigerian computer engineer added her as a friend.

She told The Sun that she has spent £20,000 on trips to Nigeria and trying to get him into the UK.
