‘Ogechi’, a song by BoyPee, Hyce and Brown Joel, was originally released in May.

The song’s remix featuring Davido was released on June 26, one day after the singer’s traditional wedding.

In a recent interview on HipTV, the trio spoke about how their collaboration with Davido on the track happened.

BoyPee disclosed that he received a call from Cubana Chief Priest, the socialite and Davido’s close friend.

He said he spoke to the ‘Timeless’ hitmaker, who invited him and his colleagues to Cubana’s residence on the same day.

BoyPee said they later went to the studio to record ‘Ogechi’ remix while Davido was planning his wedding.

He added that “we mixed the song before morning and dropped it the next day”.

“Having Davido on the remix was crazy. Cubana Chief Priest called me on video and asked me where I am,” Boypee said.

“I told him I was on the road on my way to somewhere and Cubana told me that David wants to talk to me.

“When I saw David, I just started shouting. He was talking to me and laughing but I couldn’t listen to what he was saying. The only thing I heard was that I should come to Cubana’s house.

“So we had to rush and meet up with him and that was how the remix happened. When we got to the house, he asked them to take us to the studio that night.

“We mixed the song before morning and dropped the song the next day. He was planning his wedding when we went to the studio, we went to the studio the night before his wedding. It was God designed.”
