The last edition of Alonge’s ‘Iconic Lagos’ multi-media exhibition was held in September 2022 in VI, Lagos.

It featured photos by Alonge, mixed media images by both Jason Ogbazi and Alonge, and artworks by other artists.

The project captures street colours, markets of Lagos, the hustle-bustle, and the sun-baked beaches by its shores.

It is coming in collaboration with Urbanflo, PACE, Brighton Fringe, Brighton Pride, and the University of Sussex.

Bolaji Alonge said Iconic Lagos is about celebrating the uniqueness of everyday life in Lagos, Nigeria.

He said the idea behind it is to present an authentic narrative to the next generation through photos and art.

“More than 25 million people live together in this megapolis, a pulsating beehive, with its main arteries in constant overdrive. Tradition and futurism are merged into everyday habits that marry now and then,” the artist said.
