‘Secrets of the Multiverse’, the new Nigerian sci-fi animated series, is set to premiere in 2026.
Produced by Blessing Amidu, the 13-episode adventure follows two children who stumble into a mysterious multiverse, where their decisions could save or doom their world.
The story thrusts its young protagonists into a perilous dimension filled with danger, testing not only their survival skills but also their moral compass.
In a statement released on Sunday, Blessing revealed that the storyline challenges both the survival instincts and “sense of morality” of the main characters.
“It’s a world of danger that challenges not just their survival, but their sense of morality. The kids must stop an extinction-level event from destroying everything they hold dear,” she said.
Emmanuella Amidu, the writer of the series, also expressed excitement about her creative work being brought to life.
“I’ve always loved storytelling and have written several children’s books. I’m thrilled to see this screenplay come to life,” she said.
The project features an all-star Nigerian voice cast, including Kate Henshaw, Korede Lawal, Maryam Yarkasai, Fiyin Asenuga, and Akorede Bobo.
‘Secrets of the Multiverse’ will be released in two parts, the first in 2026 and the second will debut in early 2027.
Blessing, who is also the CEO of Hot Ticket Productions, also created ‘Lady Buckit & the Motley Mopsters’, Nigeria’s first feature-length animated film, in 2020.
The groundbreaking film received multiple international awards, including Best Animated Feature at the 2021 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), and Korea Independent Animation Film Festival (KIAFF) in 2022.
It was also selected at prestigious festivals such as Annecy (France), Pan African Film Festival (USA), and Maoriland (New Zealand).
