Jennifer Gates, the eldest daughter of Bill Gates, and Nayel Nasser, her husband, are expecting their first child together.
Gates announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post on Thursday.
In the post, Jennifer shared a loved-up photo of herself and her husband wherein she showed off her baby bump.
She also accompanied the photo with a terse caption which reads: “Thankful”.
The couple got engaged in January 2020 and tied the knot in October the following year in Westchester, New York.
Jennifer had during their engagement described Nassar as “one of a kind” who she is excited to spend her life with.
“Nayel Nassar, you are one of a kind. Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions,” she had said.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes, a million times over.”
Nassar, 31, is a celebrated showjumper. He studied management and economics at Stanford University.
In October 2019, he had seen Egypt qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games after snagging the CSIO4*-W Nations Cup of Rabat in a record-breaking win.
Jennifer, on the other hand, studied biology at Stanford University.
Last year, her parents — Bill and Melinda Gates — parted ways 27 years after they got married.
Reacting to the development, Jennifer had described the divorce as a “challenging stretch of time for the whole family.”
