Beyonce Knowles-Carter, the Grammy-winning American singer, has shared a semi-nude photo of herself as her forthcoming album cover.
On Thursday, a photo wherein the singer could be seen on a graphical horse while almost unclad with silver spiky chains covering her chest and backside surfaced on her Instagram page.
The photo was accompanied by a caption in which she described how creating ‘Renaissance’, her 16-track project, gave her “a place to dream and find escape during a scary time”.
Beyonce also said she made the album in order for it to be a “place free of judgement, perfectionism and overthinking.”
“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was coming,” she wrote.
“My intention was to create a safe place, a place free of judgement. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to release, feel freedom.
“It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
The racy album cover appeared to have raised eyebrows across social media platforms.
High-def streamer Tidal and a product listing on the singer’s website recently announced July 30 as the release date for the body of work.
‘Renaissance’ is the megastar’s seventh studio album.
The project is coming on the back of ‘Break My Soul’, her first official single since the beginning of 2022.
