Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo state governor, has gushed over her husband with the lyrics of Kizz Daniel’s hit song ‘Cough’.

The couple marked their 42nd wedding anniversary on April 18.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, the first lady of Ondo shared a photo of herself and her husband sitting together on the couch while enjoying the coziness of their mansion.

The lovebirds appeared to be on vacation. While it remains to be seen where they travelled to enjoy the holiday, their outfits suggest the photo was not taken in Nigeria.

In the caption of the post, Betty adopted lyrics from Daniel’s chart-topping song, saying she has “carried my love away to a place he loves.”

“Cough! (Odo by Kiss Daniel) 😅. I have carried my love ❤️ away to a place he loves, odoyewu 💃🏿😍,” she wrote.

“I want to flex my love/ I wan impress/ And I want to carry my love away/ To a place she loves/ Ah my woman/ I wan impress/ And I want to carry my love away/ To a place she loves,” the lyrics of the 2022 hit song read.

In January, there were speculations over the health status of Akeredolu.

Richard Olatunde, Akeredolu’s chief press secretary, said the governor had some health challenges but has received treatment.

Akeredolu became the governor of Ondo in February 2017.

He tied the knot with Betty on April 18, 1981, and their union is blessed with four children.

In 2021, on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary, Betty, who is an indigene of Emeabiam in Owerri, Imo state, said despite the fact that she and the governor are from different tribes, she has enjoyed total support from her spouse.
