Bella Shmurda, the Nigerian artiste, has put out a new single titled ‘My Brother’ — which serves as a tribute to Mohbad, the late singer.
Mohbad, an ex-Marlian Records signee, died on September 12 and was buried the next day.
But on September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
This was due to the controversy surrounding his death.
In the new song, Bella Shmurda reminisces about how he met the late singer and how they became friends at first sight.
He describes Mohbad as a “light that became a legend in the face of animosity”.
“Jah can you bring my brother back? Only you my Jackie Chan. It was studio when we dey when I met you. I saw you wear… And I love you. We like same things we share same dream/You go follow me/ You go follow smoke cigar when I witch benson/ Baba gbó àdúrà mio/ 2020 ojú mi rí ọ/ that same year I met Imole/ Ọmo ológo/ Ọmo óò wále/ Ṣe kó pò ké/ Ọmo tío gbebe wọn lo sote/ But I don’t want them/ I don’t wanna send them/ Lójú wọn Imole di legend/ Ajepako wey get charisma/ Carpenter wey get calibre/You be fine boy wey get good style ,” he sings in a mixture of Yoruba and English.
