Tacha Akide, the reality TV star, has opened up about her interest to venture into politics.
In a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, Tacha explained that her persistent worries about the nation’s direction have led her to consider a direct role in decision-making.
The reality star emphasized the impact of politics on everyday life, noting that “one policy from the government can make or break you”.
While confirming her passion for the subject, Tacha clarified that an immediate plunge into politics is not her current plan.
She said she intends to continue leveraging her influence as a public figure to “advocate for good governance and accountability”.
“I feel like if you keep complaining about something, it only makes sense to get involved and maybe make certain decisions that’ll make things easier for people,” she said.
“People always say after God, it’s politics and truly, one policy from the government can make or break you. At the end of the day, it makes sense to get involved.
“Politics is something I’m passionate about, but like I said, I’m not the one making the decisions. However, I’ll just keep using my platform to push for good governance and hold our leaders accountable.”
The reality star recently attempted to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most makeovers by a single artist in 24 hours.
On October 11, she successfully completed 150 makeovers within the 24-hour period.
The achievement is now pending official verification and confirmation by the Guinness World Records (GWR) organisation.
Tacha rose to fame during the 2019 edition of BBNaija. Her time on the show ended prematurely after she was disqualified for physical aggression toward a fellow housemate.
Since then, she has built a career in the entertainment industry. She ventured into fashion and worked as a radio host at Cool FM.
Recently, Tacha expanded her business ventures into sports by launching a football club called Tacha FC.
