Praise Nelson, the Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) season five housemate, has opened up on why he keeps his love life private.
The professional dancer and fitness trainer turned up for the premiere of ‘Aki and Paw Paw‘, the remake of Nollywood’s 2002 classic ‘Aki Na Ukwa’, in Lagos on Sunday.
Speaking with TheCable Lifestyle at the event, Praise said recent trends on the internet informed his decision to keep his love life private.
The reality star also said that he usually avoids “outside energy” in his relationship because it usually “blow up things.”
Praise added that it is also better to keep one’s relationship away from the public as some partners dislike being in the spotlight.
“I keep my love life private because it’s better, sometimes, outside energy just blows up everything. Not everyone wants to be in the spotlight,” he said.
“So, in order for me to enjoy my relationship, that’s if I’m in one, I’ll keep it private. Some people can be in a relationship and they won’t like to be at the centre of public attention and all that because of the way the internet can be.
“Therefore, sometimes, it’s really good to go private, nobody needs to know what you’re up to, when it’s time for them to see it, they will.”
Asked if he is in a relationship, Praise said: “I can’t say.”
Praise, who also reflected on his journey since leaving BBNaija, said he is considering pursuing a career in the movie industry.
“Apart from the fact that I’m a shy person, I would say yes (I’ll take up a movie role in the future). I think it’s something I would love to do. l feel pretty much like a jack-of-all-trades,” he added.
“I do what I have to do, so l don’t limit myself to a certain space. I try other things.”
