Nina Ivy, the ex-BBNaija housemate, has opened up on the challenges she faced after undergoing a breast reduction and lifting surgery.
The reality TV star earlier disclosed her plan to undergo the surgery. She said she had “waited for this day my entire life” to have the surgery.
But in an Instagram post, Ivy shared a video of the aftermath of the surgery wherein her eye was swollen.
She revealed it was a result of her allergy to general anesthesia used during the surgery.
“This is me after surgery. I react to general anesthesia so yes I always expect this after surgery,” she captioned the video.
“All the video I made was done two days after the surgery. My whole face was still recovering from the swell.”
General anaesthesia is a state of controlled unconsciousness. It is used for major operations.
During a general anaesthetic, medicines are used to send a person to sleep, so the person will be unaware of the surgery and does not move or feel pain while it is carried out.
In another post, the reality TV star acknowledged the surgery was painful but she did not feel it a lot because she has a”high pain tolerance”.
“The pain level, from a scale a of 1 to 10, mine was 6. I have a high tolerance for pain so I didn’t feel like a lot of pain after the surgery,” she said.
“It is very painful but you have you pain medications and all of that to help reduce the pain. You are seeing your body and you are looking good so who cares about the pain anyways.”
Ivy rose to fame after she participated in the 2018 edition of the BBNaija titled ‘Double Wahala’. The show was won by Miracle Igbokwe.
