Dorathy Bachor, an ex BBNaija housemate, has alleged that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) broke into her house.
The reality TV star, while registering her shock via her Instagram page, said the incident occurred at 4:45 am on Monday.
She claimed that operatives of the commission broke down the door to her house, almost causing her mum a panic attack.
Dorathy said, when she demanded an explanation, “they said they were chasing a suspect who ran into her estate.”
“What is the need of being a citizen of this country? If I can’t feel safe in my own house? It’s 5 a.m. And I’m literally shaking. And so upsets right now. I feel like my head is about to explode. I’m numb,” the reality TV personality said.
“At 4:45 am, I heard a loud sound and voices followed after. I rush out almost naked to see five fully armed EFCC men in my living room. And one of them saying, ‘Oh, na that BBNaija babe be this’.
“In my confused state, I’m trying to understand what the hell was going on. Why did they break down my door?
“Then one of them said they were looking for someone who ran into my estates and I should lock my door, stay indoors and not say a word. At this point, I’m shaking and so confused. Because how exactly is this even okay.
“Still shaking. I’m trying to close my already broken door when my sister screamed my name. I ran back upstairs to see my mom almost having a panic attack. EFCC, on God, you have no right.
“I’ve never felt so helpless in my whole life. You now break into people’s houses, jump fences, and put a gun to people’s heads in the name of doing your job. Shame on you all.”
Dorathy’s account comes a few weeks after Biodun Stephen, the Nigerian filmmaker, had also alleged that the EFCC forcefully gained access into her hotel room in the middle of the night.
The anti-graft agency is yet to react to the allegation as of the time of this report.
