The recent whirlwind of events between Promise Kelvin Anagbodu, the skit maker better known as Lord Lamba, and Queen Mercy Atang, former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, has set tongues wagging in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
Speculations about a romantic relationship between the online comedian and the reality star have been circulating for over a year.
The rumours gained momentum when Queen welcomed Princess Keilah, a girl from her supposed affair with Lamba, on December 25, 2022, and thereafter celebrated her first birthday the following year.

Lamba, however, did not publicly acknowledge the paternity of the child, and neither party confirmed their relationship status.

Queen appeared to have also given her followers the impression that Lamba was “my bestie” in a birthday message shared on social media.
A widely circulated screenshot of the post captured the reality star lavishing the skit maker with loving words, leaving fans confused about the nature of their relationship.
But on Thursday, Atang’s surprise engagement announcement to King David, a UK-based biomedical scientist, triggered a chain of unforeseen events.
While many well-wishers congratulated the lovebirds on Atang’s social media post, Lamba chose to share pictures of himself with Keilah, his daughter with the reality star, for the first time.

“Princess Keilah Kelvin Anagbogu Ada Nnewi,” he wrote alongside a love emoji.
The images, including one from her first birthday and her international passport bearing his surname, drew varied reactions from fans and colleagues.
Some users felt Lamba’s timing was insensitive because it coincided with Atang’s engagement announcement.
Shortly after, Lamba was said to have filed a custody lawsuit against Atang, arguing that her forthcoming marriage would hinder her ability to fully care for their daughter.
In the widely circulated petition, dated February 16 and addressed to the family court of Lagos in Ikeja, Queen was criticised for allegedly leaving their daughter in the care of other people while she travelled to the United Kingdom to get engaged on January 29, 2024.
The skit maker, in the suit, added that Keilah would be well catered for if raised by him.
Atang has not responded to the reported lawsuit and has continued to share updates from her engagement on social media.
However, checks into Atang’s fiancé’s Instagram account by TheCable Lifestyle showed that the lovebirds have known each other for about eight years.

In 2016, David posted a photo with Atang from her pageant days.
It remains to be seen how this drama will ultimately unfold and what implications it will have for all parties involved.
