CAROLINE DANJUMA AND NABILA FASH THREATEN TO SUE ORITSEFEMI
Actress Caroline Danjuma dismissed a claim by Oritsefemi, the singer, that she married Tagbo Umeike, a late friend of Davido.
Oritsefemi claimed he initially wanted to marry Danjuma.
He said he settled for Nabila Fash, his ex-wife, after “learning of Danjuma’s marriage to Tagbo”.
Reacting to the claim last week, the movie star maintained that she had only been married to Musa Danjuma, her ex-husband.
She also threatened to take legal action against Oritsefemi while asking the singer to provide evidence to back his claims.
Fash, on the other hand, threatened to sue Oritsefemi over his claim that she had 21 miscarriages during their marriage.
Fash denied the allegations, saying they were “concocted lies designed to damage my character and bring me to public ridicule”.
She cautioned him not to call her his wife, stating that the high court in Lagos dissolved their marriage on March 21, 2024.
Fash also denied claims that she sent her friends to beat Oritsefemi up.
KA3NA CLAIMS SHE MADE $900M WHILE ASLEEP
Kate ‘Ka3na‘ Jones, the 2020 Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) housemate, was in the public eye last week after she claimed she made $900 million while asleep.
The reality star shared a screenshot of a message from a man confirming what appeared to be a “successful transaction” between both parties.
The screenshot also implied that the deal involves selling properties in London, United Kingdom.
Although the reality star did not provide enough evidence to back her claims, Ka3na boasted that she would “retire as a young billionaire”.
However, a segment of X users tackled Ka3na, wondering if she lacks “respect for numbers”. Some users also taunted the reality star, arguing that she made the money in her dreams.
FG CLARIFIES BAN ON RITUAL, SMOKING SCENES IN NOLLYWOOD
Shaibu Husseini, the executive director of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), clarified the “misleading reports” on the ban on smoking, money rituals, and the promotion of crimes in Nigerian movies.
Husseini was on Wednesday quoted to have announced the ban on behalf of the federal government at a national stakeholders’ engagement on smoke-free Nollywood in Enugu.
But on Thursday, the executive director of NFVCB clarified that he did not announce a ban on smoking and ritual scenes in movies as widely assumed.
He added that his comment at the event was about the existence of NFVCB Regulations 2024 which in line with global best practices prohibits the promotion of money rituals, ritual killing, and Tobacco products in movies.
BANKY W SURVIVES FOURTH CANCER SURGERY
Last week, Bankole Wellington, the singer and politician fondly called Banky W, underwent a fourth cancer surgery.
The actor underwent the third surgery to treat a rare strain of skin cancer in November 2017.
But on Thursday, Banky W said he is grateful to God for his recovery. He added that he made his condition known publicly to “encourage anyone out there who is going through a challenge”.
DADDY SHOWKEY RECALLS HOW HE WAS ALMOST BURNT ALIVE FOR STEALING
The 53-year-old Nigerian singer said he was nearly lynched for stealing many years ago.
Showkey revealed he was once a member of a notorious gang who had access to guns and used them to terrorise people residing in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The musician added that he and one of his gang members were caught during their operation.
“They caught me and my friend and they tied us up and they were going to burn us. We were saved miraculously but unfortunately, they caught 91A and burnt him alive on the new road,” he added.
PORTABLE SEEKS PRAYERS OVER HEALTH ISSUE
The controversial singer took to social media on Sunday to call for prayers, saying “I am in pain”.
Although he did not give details on the nature of his illness, Portable shared videos of himself receiving treatment at home.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker was seen receiving drip while expressing his desire “not to die young”.
Fans and well-wishers have since flooded his comment sections with prayers and encouragement.
AGN ANNOUNCES JOINT CANDLE LIGHT PROCESSION FOR THREE NOLLYWOOD STARS
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced a joint candlelight procession for late actors John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, Amaaechi Muonagor, and Zulu Adigwe, who died earlier this year.
In a recent post on Instagram, AGN disclosed that the candlelight procession will be held simultaneously in Lagos, Abuja, and Asaba on June 17.
OLANREWAJU KAYODE’S WIFE THREATENS TO SUE HIM OVER PATERNITY ALLEGATION
Last week, Ezinne Dora, the estranged wife of Olanrewaju Kayode, the Super Eagles footballer, denied allegations of infidelity, paternity, and financial fraud levelled against her.
On Saturday, rumours also circulated online claiming a DNA test had been conducted, proving that the children did not belong to Olarewaju.
Ezinne, however, denied the allegations through her legal representatives.
In a lawsuit shared by her lawyers, she said the claims are “defamatory, causing severe embarrassment to our client and her children”.
Ezinne also asked Olarewaju to issue a disclaimer via his social media platforms within 24 hours.
The letter added that failure to adhere to the demands would leave “our client with no choice but to seek full custody of their children in the ongoing divorce proceedings”.
PAUL OKOYE’S WEDDING
Paul Okoye, the Nigerian singer better known as Rudeboy, and Ivy Ifeoma, his partner, held their traditional wedding in Abia state.
The lovebirds performed their wedding rites before family members on Friday.
