Baba Dee, Nigerian musician and actor, has taken to social media to mourn Sound Sultan, his younger brother, who passed away after battling cancer.

TheCable Lifestyle had reported how the 44-year-old music star died from lymphoma — a type of cancer that starts in the white blood cells.

His was thereafter buried on Sunday at the Marlboro Muslim Cemetry in New Jersey, US.

In an Instagram post, Baba Dee said he never anticipated a day would come when he would be mourning his brother.

“Lanre I never knew a day like this will come.., my beloved brother and partner. Till me meet and part no more…” he wrote.

In a follow-up post, the singer, whose real name is Dare Fasasi, shared photos from the burial of his brother.

He described Sound Sultan as a symbol of grace even in death, adding that his brother lived a life of impact.

Baba Dee also pledged his support for Farida Fasasi, his late brother’s wife, as well as his family.

“Buried according to Muslim rites in New York, you are a symbol of grace and even in death, God’s grace was with you. @soundsultan everybody is saying good things about you, I wish they knew how good you are,” he wrote.

“Take heart @faridafasasi I will never leave you dear. Thank you everybody that made this possible…”

Baba Dee and the deceased had worked together on numerous projects, including establishing Naija Ninjas, their record label.

In 2004, they also teamed up for the production of ‘Head Gone’, an award-winning movie.
