Naira Marley has been at the center of a firestorm since the death of his former signee Mohbad in September 2023 under mysterious circumstances.

Allegations of bullying and cyberstalking have led to widespread criticism, with some Nigerian radio stations banning Marley’s music.

Despite the backlash and boycott, Marley’s latest song ‘Pxy Drip (I’m Back)’ has gained traction on streaming platforms and TikTok.

On Thursday, Starr shared a video that featured her dancing to the song. The footage was however met with outrage on social media, with many criticizing her for supporting an artiste who many argued has been “cancelled”.

“I’m so disappointed in Ayra starr for vibing to that Naira Marley latest song,” a user wrote

“And am unfollowing her everywhere and stop listening to her music Rubbish.

The backlash led to Starr deleting the video from her page.

Marley responded to the controversy with a defiant statement, telling critics to “cry in peace” and leave Ayra Starr alone.

The Marlian Music founder also shared statistics showing the song’s rising views and streams, with the caption “Time will tell.”
