Stan Alieke, the lawyer of Speed Darlington, has advised Nigerians to avoid getting into legal issues.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, the legal practitioner cautioned those who recklessly invite trouble, believing their lawyers will bail them out.

Alieke said he has seen people lose everything while fighting a court case, adding that some troubles can truly “humble you for life”.

“As your lawyer, I will advise you to try as much as you can to avoid troubles, it is not worth it. All these ‘I will call my lawyer’ bragging is nothing. Lawyers can only do their best and leave you alone,” he wrote.

“All these ‘gra gra’ that some of you are doing is because you have not jammed who has your time and is ready to deal with you. Some trouble will humble you for life. I have seen people loose everything fighting a court case.”

Alieke’s advice comes after his client was released on bail after five days in police custody in Abuja.

Darlington’s detention stemmed from a formal complaint filed by Burna Boy. He was accused of defaming and cyberstalking the Grammy winner.

The singer had taunted Burna Boy over his affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

He also asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy award for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ — a project executive produced by Diddy. He claimed there was a sexual relationship between the duo.
