The visuals for ‘Calm Down’ by Rema, has become the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube with over 355 million views.

The single was released in February 2022 — a month before Rema’s debut album ‘Rave and Roses’.

In eleven months, the music video has been watched more than 355 million times to become the most-viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube.

It has also surpassed the record set by Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantintin remix’.

Last August, the Edo-born singer put out the remix of the hit single, featuring Selena Gomez, the US songstress.

The video of the remix is also believed to have garnered over 260 million views and about 4 million likes on the streaming platform.

Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has been enjoying massive reception from music lovers since he came into the limelight.

The singer has also won several awards and recognition since he became popular.

In 2019, he won the ‘Next Rated’ gong and was nominated for Viewer’s Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies.

He received the Soundcity MVP Awards for ‘Best New Artist’ in 2020.

Rema was also nominated alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid in the ‘Best Viewers Choice: International Act’ category at the 2020 BET Awards.

‘Calm Down’ was among the songs that featured on Barack Obama, the former US president’s favourite music of 2022.
