Folarin Dalmeida, the lawyer to the musician, confirmed his release to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday.

The musician was arrested by the Lagos police command on September 2 for allegedly assaulting its officer.

He is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.

The court had earlier granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and asked him to provide two sureties.

The court also ordered his remand at the Ikoyi correctional facility until he meets the bail conditions.

According to Dalmeida, the ‘Oleku’ crooner was released on Thursday after the court certified that he has met the bail conditions.

The lawyer said the rapper met the bail conditions before Thursday but his release was delayed due to the verification process.

“Yes, he (Ice Prince) was released yesterday (Thursday). He met the bail conditions even before Thursday but the verification process was what delayed his release,” he said.

The rapper’s trial was billed to start on Wednesday at the magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos.

But the court adjourned the case till October 24 after the prosecution counsel said his witnesses did not show up.
