The United States Mission in Nigeria has launched a social media skit contest aimed at spotlighting the positive impact of American brands and products in Nigeria.
In a statement on Tuesday, the mission revealed that the contest tagged ‘Made in America, Loved in Nigeria Social Media Skit’ reflects its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s creative sector, strengthening cultural ties, and celebrating the ingenuity of young Nigerians.
The contest requires Nigerian creatives to produce 90-second vertical skits that showcase how American innovations, products, and culture influence daily life, productivity, and community development.
Entry videos are to be posted publicly on social media platforms with the tag @USinNigeria and the hashtags #MadeInAmericaLovedInNigeria and #TradeThatTransforms.
According to the mission, submissions will undergo pre-screening to ensure compliance with contest rules and will be judged on creativity, relevance to the theme, storytelling, technical quality, and audience engagement.
Submissions open on December 1 and close on December 8, while winners will be announced on December 12.
Top entries will receive creative media equipment including the Sony A7 IV creative bundle, Sony A7 III, and iPhone 16 with a handheld gimbal, alongside mentorship opportunities and features on U.S. Mission Nigeria’s social media platforms.
