Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has launched a new football academy in Nigeria.

Burna Boy Football Academy’ was unveiled with training centers across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

The academy is open to young football enthusiasts aged 4-15 (junior boys) and 16-21 (senior boys) categories. It aims to develop players’ pitch skills, education, and discipline.

Those who want to register their children can meet with the coaches on Saturdays and Sundays at the venues below;

  • Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt
  • 14 Ruxton Rd, Ikoyi, Lagos.
  • 43/45 Bode Thomas. Surulere Union Bank Sports Club
  • 979 Ahmadu Bello Way, Wuse 2 Abuja

“We aim to create an environment where kids can learn the fundamentals of football, combined with education, discipline, and technique, to excel in life beyond the sport,” reads a post on the academy’s website.

“We strive to engage parents in sports education, emphasizing its importance alongside academic pursuits.

“We believe this holistic approach is not only possible but essential for our children’s future success.”

Burna Boy Football Academy’ partners with top-tier football clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs, Leicester City, and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Others include Watford from the Championship, Hearts and Hamilton, the Scottish league clubs.

Burna Boy is also expected to embark on a meet-and-greet across the four centres from September 1, 2024. The aim is to meet with the parents whose kids are registered at the academy.
