Speaking during an orientation program organised for new students on Tuesday, Kundila encouraged them to make use of the various facilities which have been put in place to aid their academic goals.

Ibrahim Garba, the vice-chancellor of the university, advised the freshmen of the institution to be cautious of sexually transmitted diseases, particularly the Acquire Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDs).

Garba urged them to respect the rules and regulations of the university and take their studies serious in order to become the adults that their parents would be proud of.

“Please do not engage in taking alcohol, dangerous drugs, or any social vices. Avoid bad influences from other people within and outside the university, specifically, you are strongly advised to avoid membership of secret cult.

“You also need to be security conscious while you engage in your academic pursuit in the university campus. Do report any suspicious objects or movement that is not normal,” Garba said.

He also urged the students to respect the values, culture, and religion of their host communities in order to ensure peaceful coexistence.
