Antonio Banderas, a Spanish actor best known for his roles in the movies ‘Desperado’ and ‘The Mask of Zorro’, has tested positive for COVID-19 on his 60th birthday.
The film star, took to his Twitter page on Monday to share a statement alongside a childhood photo of himself.
He said he has been feeling fatigued and is currently under medication for recovery.
“I want to make public that today, August 10, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday following quarantine, having tested positive with Covid-19 disease,” Banderas wrote in the Spanish language.
“I would like to add that I feel relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and confident that I will recover as soon as possible
“This is following the medical indications that I hope will allow me to overcome the infectious process that I suffer and that is affecting so many people around the planet.”

“I will take advantage of this isolation to read, write, rest, and continue making plans to begin to give meaning to my 60th year to which I arrive full of enthusiasm. A big hug to everyone.”
Banderas, who began acting in the ’80s, also appeared in other films including Philadelphia (1993), ‘Interview with the Vampire’ (1994), ‘Desperado’ (1995), ‘Evita’ (1996), and ‘Assassins’ (1995).
