Annie Idibia, Nigerian actress and model, has gotten Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia, her husband, and fans talking after she shared a rare photo showing her dressed in a blue bikini.
The photo was taken at Buggiba beach, an artificial tourist attraction site situated in a zone within Malta’s St. Paul’s Bay, amid numerous hotels and an array of luxurious eateries, pubs, clubs, and casino.
Shortly after the 34-year-old media personality shared the picture, her husband jokingly requested that he be credited with love.
“And she forgot to add ‘loved by 2Baba’,” the singer teased.
While some fans on Instagram joined the frenzy and marveled at the rarity of seeing Annie in the racy outfit, the talented actress also got a lot of stick from a number of users.
The users registered their displeasure at her failure to opt for a swimsuit that conceals the scars overrunning the left flank of her abdomen.
“It’s not okay seeing the scar. You would have worn a better bikini that would cover you a bit,” said a fan while some others also questioned the actress’s moral values for sharing a photograph that exposes her physique.
In response, Annie said that she had two cesarean sections during childbirth and that the stretch marks and scars that came therefrom were vestiges and “imperfections” that she would remain proud of.
“So proud of the imperfections. The scars and stretch marks from my two CS is the best part of this picture,” she replied.
“Annie, please don’t remove this picture no matter what. We’re in a world where people are obsessed with perfection and fake bodies. Childbirth comes with lots of baggage. We need a real representation of what it feels like to be a mother,” another fan added.
“I’m not talking about if the body is to be kept for her hubby or not. My comment is with regard to people that are body-shaming her. People have different values and beliefs. If both her and her husband are okay with her wearing a bikini, then that’s fine.”
Annie is married to Tuface with whom she has two children.
